The Dilly Dally Sessions

Brilliant but bored.

You don’t need to know what’s next, you need to figure out how you want to get there.

dilly-dally | ˈdilēˌdalē | : aimless wandering or indecision; to take more time than necessary; to saunter

You’re at the edge of the roadmap you’ve followed your entire life. Now what? That horizon is asking you to (re)connect with the boldest, most curious, and inspired version of yourself as you move forward. Find her through imagination, play and deliberate quiet - not problem solving. Dilly Dally.

Two live sessions together ⸱ Monday 11/16 + Friday 11/20 ⸱ $200

I want to be alive when I die

Dr. Zuleka Adams

Read this part honestly - is this the right experience for you?

This IS for you if...

  • You need more play and fun in your life
  • Your imagination is drying up like a raisin in the sun
  • You’ve followed the script that was handed to you, and now you’re ready to write your own
  • You want to deepen your capacity to imagine and play
  • You aren’t sure what’s next, but you suspect there’s something else...
  • You’re ready to make your own magic.

This is NOT for you if...

  • You need every moment to produce an ROI
  • You’re looking for a productivity hack
  • The idea of play feels silly and like a waste of time
  • You have no interest in experiences that ask you to decouple your worth from what you can fix, who you can save, or what accolade you can accumulate next
I need a little Dilly Dally!

Why you’re stuck and bored...

You’ve run out of roadmap...

…and have perpetually accomplished everything you wanted (or were told to want) and you didn’t plan beyond the pinnacle...

  • You’re at a point where you’ll default to what’s expected for the path you’ve chosen or you’ll pivot - and you’re not sure how or afraid of the latter
  • Golden handcuffs: You’ve built a comfortable and stable life and taking a risk now feels like unnecessarily rocking the boat
  • You’re letting fear disguised as [fill in the blank [logic, procrastination, content, familiarity] keep you from wandering into the unknown
  • Your carefully optimized schedule has no room for consistent wonder, awe, play, or imagination
  • You turn every bit of inspiration into a new project or productive output
  • The problem isn’t a missing strategic plan or more time. The problem is impoverished energy and inspiration.

You’ve spent years solving problems you didn’t create and convincing everyone but yourself — this has drained you the precious resource, your energy, that fuels the boldest version of yourself. This energy is not easily replaced by rest and retreats, it must be regenerated. And the cost?

  • Your imagination (and dreams) drying like a raisin in the sun
  • Dimmed light and vibrancy
  • Cycling between fight mode and recovery
  • Entire years of productivity that are entirely forgettable

If nothing changes, you will continue to upgrade to more sophisticated (and expensive) versions of stuck, bored, and uninspired.

Imagination and play generate energy.

How will we do it...

Two live sessions - Monday 11/16 and Friday 11/20 - with solo recess in between.

  1. Dig: explore and (re)member who you are - the version of you who didn’t ask for permission, who could disappear into an afternoon of her own world. She’s not gone, she’s buried under decades of trying to be the best and putting out other people’s fires. (Re)member her — through memory, play, wonder, and deliberate quiet. And learn to mute the voice that has convinced you to be safe rather than brave, to be smaller, convenient, or that success is the root of your value.
  2. Play: You need to play more. This is a part of letting go, and it’s part of accessing lightness, laughter and a sense of freedom. This is different than rest or retreat (also important), play is energy and inspiration generating. Have fun without competition or any stakes at all. Be silly, have fun, let go.
  3. Solo Recess: Tuesday through Thursday are yours. Wander, wonder, play, be deliberately quiet. Notice what sparks, capture it, and bring it with you on Friday.
  4. Sculpt: There are multiple dimensions of imagination - digging/exploring, play, as well as wonder and quiet. When we come back together on Friday, we’ll start shaping a ritual that is yours, including a practice for capturing the inspiration (a question, an idea, an image) that will undoubtedly emerge. We aren’t focused on chasing or building those ideas (yet) — just noticing and capturing them.
  5. Fire: These sessions are designed to create a spark — and without intention, you’ll lose it. We close on Friday with reflection: writing a letter to the version of yourself who will need it in a month, and a toast to ourselves for stepping outside of what’s expected to embrace the unknown - for taking the time to play and dream and a celebration: a F*ck It Friday dance party and fashion show to make sure you carry the joy of it in your bodies. You’ll leave (re)acquainted with a bolder and more curious version of yourself, with proof that you can still surprise yourself, and a ritual to help you hold on to it.

Stop waiting for inspiration to strike - and start creating it for yourself.

Who’s running this...

I’m the client and the Player President.

I'm a lifelong rule breaker and recovering overachiever. After decades of being focused on a singular goal — becoming a tenured professor — and when I finally achieved it a couple of years ago, I was left feeling uninspired and unclear about what I wanted next. So I started building what I needed — more room for imagination, dreaming, and playing — without anything to prove to anyone. I started researching, writing, and teaching about imagination, which led me to a new book and creating a space for others to imagine and play.

I'm ready to imagine again.
Testimonials

I am now starting with joy and possibility - I realize that I don’t always have to create from pain and trauma.

Author and Artist, M.P.

When I’m around and talking to Courtney, I start to believe that anything is possible and that I can do anything.

Artist, D.T.

By the end of her sessions, we were beautifully vulnerable, connected and engaged in gut wrenching laughter. Most of all, we were catalyzed -- sparked into positioning imagination as a superpower and play as a key pathway to basking in the glow of it.
